Lemon myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) leaf extract on biofilm formation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
نویسندگان
چکیده
This study includes 10 samples isolated from a different source. research paper was to the antibacterial activity and antibiofilm of an alcoholic extract Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) leaves, against clinical isolates Pseudomonas aerogenoza. Isolates were diagnosed by VITEK-2 compact system (PCR). The capacity produce biofilm tested using Microtiter plate technique (96 wells). results showed that able form biofilm, also ability Backhousia citriodora been effective on bacteria formation.

Ginger Extract Inhibits Biofilm Formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA14
Bacterial biofilm formation can cause serious problems in clinical and industrial settings, which drives the development or screening of biofilm inhibitors. Some biofilm inhibitors have been screened from natural products or modified from natural compounds. Ginger has been used as a medicinal herb to treat infectious diseases for thousands of years, which leads to the hypothesis that it may con...
متن کاملSpaceflight Promotes Biofilm Formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Understanding the effects of spaceflight on microbial communities is crucial for the success of long-term, manned space missions. Surface-associated bacterial communities, known as biofilms, were abundant on the Mir space station and continue to be a challenge on the International Space Station. The health and safety hazards linked to the development of biofilms are of particular concern due to...
متن کاملIron and Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm formation.
Iron serves as a signal in Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm development. We examined the influence of mutations in known and putative iron acquisition-signaling genes on biofilm morphology. In iron-sufficient medium, mutants that cannot obtain iron through the high-affinity pyoverdine iron acquisition system form thin biofilms similar to those formed by the parent under low iron conditions. If an...
متن کاملTryptophan inhibits biofilm formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Biofilm formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been implicated in the pathology of chronic wounds. Both the d and l isoforms of tryptophan inhibited P. aeruginosa biofilm formation on tissue culture plates, with an equimolar ratio of d and l isoforms producing the greatest inhibitory effect. Addition of d-/l-tryptophan to existing biofilms inhibited further biofilm growth and caused partial bi...
متن کاملInhibitory effect of zinc oxide nanoparticles on pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm formation
Objective(s): Bacterial biofilm formation causes many persistent and chronic infections. The matrix protects biofilm bacteria from exposure to innate immune defenses and antibiotic treatments. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the biofilm formation of clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the activity of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) on biofilm. Materials and Methods: Aft...
